Design Technology Clubs

In school, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children take part in our Gardening Club. They have been working hard to develop our Reid Street Gardens. The children have removed weeds, built beds and grown a variety of plants and vegetables. This has allowed them to develop their understanding of cooking and nutrition and field to fork. Children at Reid Street also take opportunities to visit local areas within the community to develop their understanding of Farm to Fork.

Children in Key Stage 2 have been taking part in the Beamish Museum’s Crank It Up competition. They have worked as a team to develop their understanding of K’NEX construction and build a working crane. It has involved lots of teamwork as well as skills in Design Technology, Maths and Science. The children have relished the challenge and it has been great to see governors, parents and carers supporting them in the club.
