Team Games

The children enjoyed working together as a team, taking turns and sharing, to play outdoor games. They practised passing the ball over their heads and through their legs as quickly as they could. They practised balancing a ball on a bat as well as throwing and catching a large ball. All the children had great fun and worked fabulously together.

Ice!

The sudden drop in temperature encouraged super exploration in Reception this week. When the children went into the garden they found that the water tray had frozen over with water toys inside it. The children were amazed to find icicles that had formed around water bottles.

We took some samples of ice inside to explore. Many children did not know how the ice had formed so we made some ice in an ice cube tray. Many children thought that ice came from snow! They knew that it did not fall from the sky, however were very uncertain how or where it actually came from!
